National Association of Elementary School Principals Offers Members New PD Option

Alexandria, VA (PRWEB) November 11, 2011

The National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) has partnered with School Improvement Network and PD 360 to give its 23,000 members free access to a selection of 24/7 online learning in a time when funding for professional development for principals is jeopardized by budget shortfalls. As school budgets fail and educators face increasing demands for higher test scores, principals are witnessing extraordinary transformations in what it means to lead successful schools and raise student achievement.

“We are very excited about this new opportunity for NAESP members because America’s principals need all the support they can get,” said Rob Monson, president of NAESP and principal of Parkston Elementary School in South Dakota. “Principals have a huge job and so little time, so opening access to selected PD 360 online resources as a benefit of NAESP membership is a boon to their constant need to grow their knowledge and skills.”

PD 360 is an online professional development platform that carries a library of 1,500 professional development videos that feature 120 experts on 97 topics. Graduate and doctorate programs already use PD 360 in programs that train up-and-coming principals and administrators. Now members of NAESP will be able to gain professional development on the on-demand PD platform.

Cory Linton, vice president of business development at School Improvement Network, says of the partnership, “Every child has the capacity to learn and has the right to a quality education. NAESP and Scholl Improvement Network share these values and goals, and we’re excited to work with an organization so dedicated to education.”
